Breast reduction is a procedure designed to decrease the size, volume and dimensions of the breast. During your consultation with Dr Toth, the procedure will be explained to you including where the nipple and areola will be repositioned, the fold underneath the breast, incisions and the amount of resection on each side to achieve symmetry.
Post-operatively, there may be some swelling and bruising which settles over a number of weeks. While some patients report reduced nipple sensation, others can have an increase in sensitivity. A support bra may be recommended during the recovery period. There will be further alterations in shape and size if you become pregnant after a breast reduction. It may be possible to breast feed after a breast reduction procedure, although this is not certain. These issues would be covered during your consultation with Dr Toth.
