Liposuction is a procedure which helps remove excess fat, including localized fat deposits, in areas such as the abdomen, thighs and hips. Liposuction is a procedure that is meant to correct contours irregularities of the body and is not a substitute for weight loss. Liposuction is suitable in patients who are near their ideal body weight, and wish to rid themselves of the areas of excess fat resistant to dieting and/or exercise. Dr Toth has the artistic eye and superb skills essential in achieving the best result from liposuction.
During the consultation, key issues pertaining to your liposuction procedure will be addressed. During the surgery, a small (2-3 mm) incision is made close to the area to be treated. Commonly this is in a natural crease or an area well hidden and if possible, the same incision is used to treat more than one site, to minimize the number of incisions made. You will have dressings over the small incision sites which may or may not be sutured depending on their location. There may be a small amount of fluid discharge from the incision sites after the surgery. The use of a compression garment after surgery will help to reduce swelling, while providing a supportive mould and helps the skin re-adhere to the underlying layers of tissue in the recovery period to give you the best possible result. We advise a concurrent regimen of a sensible diet and exercise to achieve the best outcome.
